" Hamid " a movie based on Kashmir Conflict,is admired a lot in International film festival.
A film is not focused on just one thing, how kashmiris live, what steps they are taking for a Independent Kashmir and not only shows what steps Indian Army take to maintain peace in Kashmir but Hamid showcase how both the CRPF and Local suffers from a circumstances without any fault.
Story is based on a Kashmiri family, Rehmat played by Sumit Kaul with his wife Israt played by Rasika Duggal and their son Hamid played by Talha Arshad Reshi stays in Kashmir. Rehmat is character who use to make boats for his survival and keep a hobby of writing Shayari. One fine day Rehmat disappears and Hamid starts finding him. Hamid have one classmate named Bilal who tells Hamid that your father is gone to Allah. In between Hamid finds a number 786 and came to know that its God contact number and tries to call that number in search of his father. To know the beautiful conversation between Hamid and Allah you must watch this film.
Script and all the characters are very well written in the film especially Hamid's Character.Getting disappear from Kashmir may be seems to you a normal thing but Director Azaz Khan shows you a story of a individual family which will help you to understand the pain of local kashmiris.
Dialogues are well written of the film and are well executed in the local kashmiri slang.Being a child artist Talah Reshi played the best acting with great innocence on face and big questions in mind. The way he talks, his walking style you will find it very adorable.
Rasika Duggal earlier seen in bold character in web series called Mirzapur, played one step ahead in her class of acting. She played a character who's husband suddenly disappear, how she is getting round of to the local police in search of her husband, lost in herself, out of head, unaware and how she has kept her Kashmiri accent maintained till the end is admirable.
Another important role played by Vikas Kumar in Character of CRPF Soldier, who is very angry for not getting leaves over the year.He became a father of a baby girl but not able to see her due to the situation is valley. All these frustration is very well shown by Vikas kumar in his character. From the character of Vikas Kumar, Azaz khan tried to show us the different kind of moods of CRPF soldiers, how they behave strict to get control over the local militant and how they get emotional too with a small boy who is in search for his lost father and tries to help him.
We have seen films on Kashmir issues earlier but Hamid is different because without showing any violence it raise a important issue through which we are able to understand the pain of the situation in valley. Nothing is shown by exaggerating but in a simple way kept some important issues in front of our selves.
Hamid a film and a character is must watch.
